Co-operative Bank of Kenya has unveiled a state-of-the-art Executive Plus Lounge at Westlands Square, enhancing its premium banking offerings with a dedicated space for personalized services, wealth planning, and strategic support.
The new facility also features a fully equipped executive boardroom, enabling high-net-worth clients to host business meetings in a private and professional environment.
The launch was announced during the bank’s recent Executive Banking Captains Club Networking Forum, where Lena Yego, Head of Retail Banking at Co-operative Bank, highlighted the evolution of their executive banking services.
“Our journey began with basic transactional services,” Yego stated. “But, in response to customer feedback and a changing market, we’ve transformed this experience into something much more comprehensive—focused on deeper, value-driven banking relationships.”
In addition to the lounge, the bank introduced a specialized youth banking segment within its executive banking arm. This initiative aims to nurture emerging leaders and professionals, offering young entrepreneurs exclusive access to mentorship opportunities, industry networking, and strategic wealth management tools.
“Youth are vital to our nation’s economic growth,” Yego emphasized. “We see the importance of integrating them into our key propositions, providing platforms that energize their financial journeys and connect them with experienced mentors and industry leaders.”
Kenya’s affluent market continues to expand rapidly, with the 2024 Africa Wealth Report recording over 7,200 high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), 30,000 mortgage loans, and approximately 372,000 monthly earners exceeding KES 100,000.
Market projections from Statista Market Insights estimate that Kenya’s Assets Under Management (AUM) will reach US8.26billion (KES1.06trillion) in 2025 to about US8.79 billion (KES 1.13 trillion) by 2029.
These figures reflect a maturing financial landscape, emphasizing the need for structured wealth management solutions.
Customers enrolled in the bank’s exclusive executive banking program will benefit from a range of premium offerings, including automatic membership to the Captains Club Network, invitations to curated business networking events, unsecured personal loans up to KES 10 million, comprehensive wealth and investment advisory services, Visa Platinum debit and credit cards with lifestyle perks, and complimentary family banking services for spouses and children.
Furthermore, Co-operative Bank plans to replicate the Executive Plus Lounge at ten more branches nationwide, including locations in Nyali, Eldoret (Rupa Mall), Nakuru, Kisumu, Gigiri, and Karen, among others.
This expansion aims to deepen the bank’s reach within Kenya’s growing affluent market and reinforce its commitment to delivering tailored, high-quality banking experiences.
