Societe Generale Ghana opens branch in Airport city

Societe Generale Ghana has opened an ultra-modern Airport City branch in Accra as part of efforts to bring modern banking to strategic communities.

Mr Kofi Ampim, Board Chairman of Societe Generale Ghana, said the bank is currently expanding its branch network systems to bring modern banking to the doorsteps of clients and prospective customers.

He said the Airport City and its environs had corporate, small and medium scale businesses and high net worth individuals hence the bank decided to build a boutique and a customer friendly branch to serve the needs of customers in the vicinity.

“Our objective is to build customised branches to cater for the particular needs of each community we serve, because we believe that each community is different. At Societe Generale, our value is customer satisfaction,” he said.

He commended the management of the bank for completing the project and urged the staff to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them by the bank.

Mr Sionle Yeo, the Managing Director of the bank, reiterated the bank’s commitment to provide quality products and services that best satisfied its customers’ needs by employing the highest standards in commitment, responsibility, team spirit and innovation.

Mr Yeo said the bank’s customers were at the heart of all its decisions and that the Airport branch was the 41st branch to serve as a hub for its retail, small and medium enterprises and privileged banking activities.

He said Societe Generale Ghana was one of the leading banks in the country that provided customers with 24/7 ATM for all VISA, Ghana Link and MasterCard users, Western Union and MoneyGram, loans and overdrafts.

Mr Raymond Amanfor, Head of Banking Institution, Bank of Ghana, commended management for the gesture, and urged the bank to improve on access to financial service and deepen its financial intermediary role.

He said Bank of Ghana would introduce corporate governance guidelines to guide the board structure of all banks in the country, stressing that cross directorship would not be encouraged under the new guidelines.

He urged the bank to improve upon their risk management and be circumspect in their credit delivery.
