Crown Paints unveils new product to combat COVID-19

The sanitizer is a fast action anti-germ & anti-bacterial formulation to protect hands from germs causing infections offering 99.99 % germ protection with 84% alcohol.

Paint Manufacturer, Crown Paints Kenya has unveiled an alcohol-based Crown Hand Sanitizer.

The firm’s Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Rao said “the alcohol based sanitizer which has been approved by the government agency KEBS will be able to address the high demand for the commodity particularly during this period the world is grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“The new hand sanitizer will act quickly and very easy-to-use as it doesn’t require water and towel to dry.

It contains ethanol as the active ingredient and has a broad spectrum of activity against viable bacteria, fungi, enveloped viruses, non-enveloped viruses, gram positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria”, Rao explained.

The demand for high levels of hygiene required has led to more demand for products such as water, soaps, hand sanitizers and antiseptic solutions in the country, which has led to the paint company diversifying its business to tap into the new market demand.

These are unprecedented times for us a country and it is imperative that we all adhere to the ministry of health guidelines to overcome this pandemic and normalize our lives”, Rao urged, adding that the product will be produced in various sizes such as 60ML, 120ML , 300ML, 500ML Squeezy bottle, 500ML Spray bottle, 1L, 5L (Jerry Can) and 20 L (Bucket with tap) to meet the needs of a variety of the population and the smallest SKU will retail from as low as Sh108.
