Kenya’s roofing and building solutions firm, Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM), Tuesday launched the second edition of the annual photography competition with the aim of sparking a conversation on conservation.
MRM Eye in the Wild – STOP THE CHOP Photography Competition hopes to draw the public EYE through the camera lens on the state of flora and fauna conservation in Kenya.
This will be the second edition after the first edition that was launched on March 29, 2017 that attracted huge submissions from the public.
“This year’s competition will be about the forest conservation, the beauty of it, its impact on climate change and the environmental degradation that is currently happening as well as the use of a digital platform to get this message to the right audience. “Said Karen Gikunda, the Mabati Rolling Mills Head of Marketing, adding that the focus areas are community, wildlife, lifestyle and water with the rationale being that they all depend on the forest to survive.
“We are thrilled to be part of this great awareness movement, we need to protect our environment to safeguard our future generations,” said Harry Muchangi, the Safal Group Regional Marketing Head for Eastern Africa, adding “Climate action is a duty for all, It’s an honor to be part of an initiative that will drive the conversation around conservation while appreciating the beauty of Mother Nature.”
