Morocco’s national carrier, Royal Air Morocco (RAM) Thursday made its maiden flight from Casablanca, Morocco to Nairobi, Kenya.
This makes Nairobi the 33rd destination to join other African countries with the RAM flight, the direct flight is poised to open up the Maghreb region to Kenya, and the wider East Africa, marking the airline the fastest and arguably cheaper than traveling via the main hubs in the Gulf.
The airline will fly two times per week to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) from Mohammed V International Airport, in Casablanca.
Benryane terms Kenya as not only an attractive safari destination but also a major air transport hub in Africa and the gateway to a dynamic region.

The air services agreement between morocco and Kenya was signed 2 years ago which allows both sides to responds to respond to market needs.
The two countries will work closely with the Kenya Tourism Board to enable them sell Kenya in their market as part of growing tourist numbers from across Africa.
“Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport continues to enjoy tremendous traffic growth. Today, it welcomes an annual flow of more than 8 million from the 12 million tourists that morocco draws annually.” He said
The Mohammed V International Airport links Casablanca and global business to more than 90 destinations; it is considered as a regional and international aviation hub and a major business and financial center in Africa.
Royal Air Maroc’s new direct passenger flights between Casablanca and Nairobi is set to bridge business and trade ties as it targets to attract 20 million tourists per annum by the year 2020.
