Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) raided an illegal cable television operator in Eldoret leading to the arrest of four suspects.
Officials from CA’s Western Regional Office accompanied by security officers raided Matuchhaya Cable Limited, located in Khetia Garments Building along Moi Street, Eldoret.
The suspects were arraigned before an Eldoret court today and charged with operating a television cable station without a license.
Over 60-satellite decoders and receivers, a fibre optic transmitter, about13 Encoders and 52 modulators were recovered in the operation. The business is estimated to serve over 250 clients.
The suspects pleaded not guilty to the offence and were released on a bond of Ksh1 Million.
