Africa, Russia youth partnership upheld

The World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), a left-wing youth organization, jointly with the International Union of Students held the World festival of youth and students at the democratic republic of Congo.

The event saw at least of 50 Youth leaders from across the world gathered in Kinshasa under the theme “Africa’s participation to the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students”.

This came after the Pan African Youth Union earlier this year signed an MoU with the Russian National Youth council at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA where they pledged to give its full support in the upcoming October World Festival of Youths and Students in Moscow Russia that seeks to attract over 30 thousand Youth participants from across the globe.

Ms. Francine Muyumba, President of the Pan African Youth Union said that the MoU signed between the Pan African Youth Union and the Russia National Youth Council is mainly meant to strengthen the relationship between the youth of Africa and the Russian youth.

The Russia National Youth Council Mr. Puteshkov in his address, acknowledged the relationship between the Russian National Youth Council and the Pan African Youth Union and commended Ms. Francine Muyumba for the work she continues to do for the African Youth and the global youth in general.

Congolese Minister of Communication and Media, Lambert Mende Omalanga advised the youth leaders that they should not allow to be used by leaders to instigate violence and chaos and continued by stressing that to maintain peace, the youths must be able to stand against negative values.

He further urged the youths to take up leadership roles in their Countries so as to be instrumental in Africa’s progress.

The 19th World festival for youths and students is set to take place in Russia on October with a projection of over 30 thousand youth across Russia.

The PYU, President lastly urged the heads of delegations to embark on delegates mobilization so as to see a wide participation of African youths in the Festival.
