Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to resign later today, according to reports from his office – in what will bring down the curtains on an unprecedented political crisis over his future that has chocked Britain’s government.
On Wednesday, Johnson rebuffed calls by his Cabinet to step down in the wake of ethics scandals – but with more than 40 ministers having vacated their positions, it was only evident that he would follow suit.
Conservative Party will now pick a new leader, to replace him after Johnson lost the trust of his party.
