Tune hotel to officially launch in Kenya

Global hotel chain, Tune hotels is set to formerly open in Kenya next month with July 18th set date for the launch.

The International hotel has steadily been expanding its operations after its first opening of the hotel back in 2007 in a bid to tap new market opportunities in a hospitality industry.

This comes hot on the heels ofsteady economic growth and the free visas being offered to citizens across regional  countries.

The 12 storey hotel is based in Nairobi, Westlands and it is the first one in Africa after Malaysia, Indonesia, India and the UK.

To suit the local landscape and travellers’ requirement, the hotel features unique and interesting design with up-to 280 rooms.

At a sneak preview today, the hotel’s GM, Stuart Clay said that they wanted to introduce a product that is tailor-made for this region while providing a great value proposition.

“We are keen to ensure that our business contributes to the local economy for which reason, we have sourced most of the materials and skills locally. We have worked with local artists, architects, contractors and service providers,” He said

Tune Kenya has collaborated with Dr. Mattress, a local company to manufacture Hypnos beds, (an international bed brand) at their facility in Kenya in an order valued at about KSh20.million for 375 Hypnos beds.

Design

Crafted in local designs of the contemporary African culture right from staff clothline to the hotel interior art are Kenyan designers,Tom Mboya and Hellen Khavugwe.

On the ground floor, the hotel will have 164 seater Utamu Casual Dining Restaurant, which offers a wide selection of continental cuisine and also a Grab & Go Coffee Shop offering sandwiches, salads and a wide range of drinks to take away or dine at the terrace.

The two enclosed rooftop bars, unique to Nairobi, the Sky Bar and the Kilele Rooftop Lounge, will crown the building, offering guests fantastic views of the city in all weather conditions.

The hotel is set to employ 122 local permanent staff in different positions including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, sales and marketing.

Tune Hotels is in conjucntion with Utali College for internships and is also exploring opportunities with colleges such as Strathmore.

“We are opening an international standard hotel in terms of design, facilities and security with a high quality and empowered local customer service team. We offer all the essentials in the rooms such a very high quality bed, quality linen, en-suite thermostatic power showers and in-room controlled comfort cooling, wi-fi and various dining options. We have also invested heavily in a great security system in and around the hotel,” added Stuart.

A part of its launch offer, early bookers will get a room for as low as KSh. 5000 per night before 31st August, with 5 rooms being offered for just KSh995 per night.

The online promotion is available on their website and it runs as from 18th July to 31st August, 2016 (upon quoting PROMO995 while booking) running as from September 1st, the rates will be upwards of KSh. 8,000 per night.
