M.P. Shah Hospital Named Among First Beneficiaries of FOH Global Scholarship

The FOH network brings together more than 50 senior leaders from healthcare systems, academia, government, and industry across 14 countries.

M.P. Shah Hospital has been selected as one of the inaugural recipients of the Future of Health (FOH) Global Scholarship, positioning the institution at the center of a growing international effort to reshape healthcare systems through inclusive, evidence-based dialogue.

The scholarship, launched by Future of Health, a global network of senior healthcare leaders, is designed to expand participation from low- and middle-income regions in conversations that influence global health policy.

The initiative enables institutions such as M.P. Shah Hospital to contribute directly to FOH’s research, expert workgroups, and high-level engagements.

For Nairobi’s leading private, non-profit tertiary facility, the recognition underscores its expanding role not just within Kenya’s healthcare ecosystem, but across the wider East African region.

The hospital, which holds national referral status and international accreditation, has continued to invest in specialist services, advanced medical technologies, and patient-centered care under the leadership of CEO Toseef Din.

“Joining FOH creates an opportunity to bring perspectives from East Africa into a truly global conversation,” said Din. “Health systems like ours are navigating rapid growth alongside complex resource challenges, and there is significant value in sharing those experiences while learning from peers across different regions.”

The FOH network brings together more than 50 senior leaders from healthcare systems, academia, government, and industry across 14 countries.

Its work focuses on translating shared experiences into practical, evidence-driven recommendations that can guide policy and improve healthcare delivery worldwide.

Historically, much of the global health discourse has been shaped by institutions in high-income countries, often overlooking the realities faced in emerging markets. The FOH Global Scholarship seeks to address that imbalance by ensuring that frontline experiences from regions like Africa are reflected in global research and decision-making.

M.P. Shah Hospital’s inclusion signals growing recognition of East Africa’s evolving healthcare landscape, where institutions are balancing rising demand, resource constraints, and the need for innovation. Through FOH membership, the hospital will participate in annual research programs, peer-reviewed publications, and the organization’s global summit, contributing insights drawn from its operations in Kenya.

The move is expected to strengthen knowledge exchange between regions, while also elevating Kenya’s voice in shaping future healthcare models. As global systems grapple with challenges ranging from access and affordability to digital transformation, contributions from institutions like M.P. Shah Hospital are increasingly seen as critical to building resilient and inclusive healthcare systems.

The FOH Global Scholarship also invites philanthropic partners to support its expansion, with a commitment to match contributions annually. However, the organization maintains that funding will remain independent of its governance and research agenda, preserving the integrity of its work.

For M.P. Shah Hospital, the milestone marks not just recognition, but an opportunity to influence the global healthcare conversation, bringing East African perspectives to the forefront of shaping the future of health.
