Kenya’s Crucible Couriers and Logistics has launched its revamped services in a move the firm said is aimed at delivering unmatched customer service in all areas of operations.

The company said Thursday that it has already opened branches in Kisumu, Busia, Homa Bay, Sirare and Siaya with countrywide rollout expected in the coming months.

Now five years old since its inception, the firm said it will rely on its knowledge, experience and heritage, which helps to ensure that they are the first, call for when it matters, as it seeks to continue to draw on the combined expertise of its well-established courier businesses and will remain active in hunt for opportunities to build and expand its business portfolio.

The family- run business presently has 25 staff across its four Nairobi locations and branches.

“In our Company’s short history, this is the most exciting time to date. I am delighted that the first class service and in-depth expertise we possess across our businesses can now be reflected in one all-embracing brand. We are taking this opportunity to further tailor our business to the convenience and benefit of our customers and I’m really looking forward to expanding the brand even further in the next few years,” said Paul Ochieng, a Director of Crucible Logistics.

Ochieng’ said the move was motivated by competitive market in tracking  logistics space that continue to be flocked with thousands of regional and national players, something that has shrunk profits.

Available data shows that courier companies handle about two million shipments a day with networks of thousands of branches. Parcel sizes are typically less than half a kilogram, whereas ecommerce parcels are usually 1-2 kg.
