Liberty and Liberty Life Kenya bagged top awards during the Association of Kenya Insurance (AKI) Agents of the Year Awards held on Friday in Nairobi.

Liberty Life Kenya was named the most improved Insurance Company in Life Insurance and third-best in the Group Life categories.

Heritage Insurance was named first in Integrated Motor Insurance Database Award for the second consecutive time.

Its agent Lydia Wanjiku Mwangi emerged tops in Professional Indemnity Insurance’s Premium Volume Awards. Tom Mboya Ochieng racked up an individual win in the persistency awards in Life Agent Awards.

The wins affirm the Group’s growing efficiency in insurance provision and valuable financial advisory services to Kenyans, attributable to consistent product innovation and design.

Abel Munda, Liberty Life Managing Director said the awards were a vindication of a clear innovative and customer-focused strategy in the market.

“Our strategic direction to invest in financial freedom advisory and customer experiences is paying off. We will keep solidifying this vision to become the leading wealth management company in Africa,” said Mr. Munda.

Last year saw the two company’s ramp-up product innovation in the market.  Liberty revamped its retirements and pensions portfolio, launching an income drawdown solution with flexible and high-earning retirement’s investments options for retirees.

Heritage launched a first-in-the-market telematics technology-powered comprehensive motor cover solution ‘Auto Correct’, encouraging safe driving, reducing premium costs and streamlining claims process.

The awards come on the back of Liberty and Heritage’s strong national scale financial strength rating boost (formerly claims-paying ability) from AA to AA- by South Africa’s rating agency, GCR.

The awards, organized by the industry body, aim to assess, recognize and celebrate innovation, prudence and stability in the financial sector by recognizing individuals and organizations that have exemplified outstanding performance over the past financial year
