The Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) will Tuesday launch the 2018 edition of the Kaa Chonjo Card, Mobile and Online safety campaign. Kaa Chonjo is an annual awareness initiative, whose main objective is to create awareness on the safety precautions that should be taken by consumers of financial services in order to conduct safe transactions.
This year, the main focus of the campaign is enhancing safety in mobile transactions. Following the successful implementation of the EMV technology, the level of fraud associated with card transactions has reduced significantly. Fraudsters have now turned their attention to mobile transactions, with rampant cases of social engineering being reported for consumers using mobile payment platforms.
The event will, therefore, feature a panel discussion that will highlight emerging challenges and offer mitigation recommendations.
