Motorists are set to pay more for fuel following a slight increases in the commodity prices in the latest industry review by the regulator.
According to Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), the retail prices for petrol and diesel have shot with diesel and Kerosene increasing by Sh2.54 per litre, Sh.2.65 per litre Sh2.98 per litre respectively.
Retailers in Nairobi will from midnight pay Sh110.59 for a litre of petrol, Sh104.61 for a litre of diesel while a litre of kerosene will retail at Sh104.06. In Mombasa the commodity will retail at Sh108.53 (petrol), Sh102.56 (diesel) and Sh 102.02 (Kerosene).
The changes in this month’s prices are a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol increasing by 0.86% from US$ 459.27 per cubic metre in September 2019 to US$ 463.24 per cubic metre in October 2019; Diesel increasing by 2.08% from US$ 491.94 per cubic metre to US$ 502.15 per cubic metre and Kerosene increasing by 2.73% from US$ 486.55 per cubic metre to US$ 499.85 per cubic metre.
