APA Insurance unveils financial literacy programme to empower SMEs

APA Insurance has rolled out training programme targeting  Kenya’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The training that was launched in Nyeri with the first cohort of 60 business is aimed at equipping SMEs with the Necessary Skills to thrive in their business – with a countrywide rollout expected in the coming months.
The insure will aim to equip the budding business owners with Financial Management, tax compliance and human resources literacy, amid persisting challenges most SMES continue to grapple with.
In the last five years about 2.2 million SMEs closed shop according to latest data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.
The data estimates on average about 400, 000 SMEs die annually.
