Security Company, Securex has increased the number of its motorcycle fleet to 50 bikes in an effort aimed at bolstering movement in the capital and its environs in responding to security threats.

The motorbikes were handed to the firm’s employees at supervisory level and are part of a revolutionary motorbike loan scheme mooted by the firm’s management.

The loan scheme was launched during the handing-over ceremony at the Securex House earlier this month.

Securex Group is offering the motorbikes to all Supervisors, Field Officers, Technicians, Contract Managers and Back-up Response riders at a greatly subsidized cost which is to be repaid over a two-year period.

Securex Group Managing director Tony Sahni said the firm’s clients also stood to gain from the increased mobility of the workforce adding that the move was a mutually beneficial scheme for the firm and its employees.

“Operationally, it’s great because we get more boots on the ground ready to respond to any incidents. Increased mobility for our emergency back-up riders means an even faster response time for our clients as well,” he said.

Sahni said the second phase of the loan scheme, featuring the handing over of a further 50 motorbikes, will be rolled out in the coming weeks, targeting more than 250 staff expected to benefit from the loan scheme. (Reporting By Moris Momanyi, editing by Steve Umidha)
