Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark has arrived in Kenya for a three-day official visit. She was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Tuesday night by Prime Cabinet Secretary and Minister for Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Rebecca Miano.
While in Kenya, the Queen is expected to tour conservation development projects for endangered species at the Coast as well as several landfill projects spearheading waste management, circular economy initiatives, and urban environmental resilience within Nairobi before participating at the ongoing UNEA 7 meeting taking place at the United Nations Office in Nairobi.
The state visit provides a platform to strengthen Kenya–Denmark collaboration in renewable energy, climate action, and environmental protection.
