Michael Joseph keen to restore staff morale at KQ, vows to work with Ngunze

The Chairman of Kenya Airways Michael Joseph has assured stakeholders and the public that he is keen to restore staff morale at the airline and vowed to work with Chief executive Mbuvi Ngunze.

In his first news conference Friday, Joseph said his immediate undertaking will also involve reorganization of the company’s management even as he embarks on the turnaround process, Operation Pride.

“My immediate plans for Kenya Airways are to streamline the company’s management, carry on with the Operation Pride as well as restore staff morale that had contracted,” he said, saying the pilots’ association had given him and the board time to turn around things at KQ which recorded a net loss of Sh26.2 billion in the year ended March.

The announcement comes hours following the withdrawal of a strike notice by Kenya Airline Pilots Association (Kalpa) on Thursday.
