Liberty Kenya Donates Digital, Classroom Equipment to RVIST Primary School in Nakuru

In a move to promote equitable access to digital literacy and early education, Liberty Kenya has donated state-of-the-art desktop computers, laptops, and ergonomic classroom chairs worth KSh 350,000 to the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) Primary School, a prominent public school in the region.

The donation aims to bolster the school’s capacity to deliver quality, technology-enhanced learning experiences to young students. Each computer is pre-installed with Scratch, a popular visual programming platform developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The software is designed to introduce children to coding through an intuitive interface, fostering early development in logic, creativity, and problem-solving skills. This initiative complements the school’s existing Curriculum Based Education (CBE) programs, supporting learners to acquire essential computer skills at an early age.

Additionally, Liberty Kenya provided a set of ergonomic, age-appropriate chairs specially designed for early childhood learners. These chairs aim to promote comfort and concentration during lessons—an important factor shown to influence students’ readiness to learn and, ultimately, their long-term academic success.

This philanthropic effort is part of Liberty Kenya’s broader sustainability strategy, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 10 on Reduced Inequalities.

The initiative underscores the company’s commitment to closing the digital divide and expanding access to essential learning tools at a critical stage of development.

RVIST Primary School Principal Eric Owino expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the enhanced resources would enable the school to deliver more relevant, technology-driven education.

Principal Sam Chemoiwa assured continued support to students, parents, and teachers, emphasizing the school’s dedication to nurturing competitive and well-equipped learners. County MCA Hon. Alex Langat also commended Liberty Kenya for the donation, highlighting the positive impact on the local community and the expectations for the school’s development.
