Insurance firm, Liberty Life Assurance Kenya and Letshego Kenya Limited will Tuesday unveil a low-cost funeral insurance policy that extends coverage to unlimited number of family members, paying out claims in shortest market times.
The solution comes on the back of rising funeral planning and execution costs in Kenya, according to an Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) study. The study places costs at between Sh50, 000 and Sh300, 000 in funeral expenses and between Sh400, 000 and Sh2.5 million in hospital bills in cases of deaths from illnesses.
