Kenyan Artistes gear up for Tusker NexterFest

By Seth Emmanuel

Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), through its flagship beer brand Tusker, has announced the Tusker NexterFest’s next act that will see Kenyans enjoy the ultimate party experience through this April and May 2022.

The four-week series of parties will see Kenyans across the country experience exciting performances from the best Kenyan music talent including Khaligraph Jones, Mejja, Fena Gitu, Femi One, Krispah, Redsan, JuaCali, Arrow Bwoy, among others.

Tusker Nexters is part of the company’s Centenary celebrations happening across the country, to mark its 100 years in operation. The music platform will also involve the talents that were unearthed at the recently concluded Tusker Nexters Talent Search audition phase that saw rappers, vocalists, instrumentalists, spoken word artistes, and more, take to the stage and express themselves at a regional level.

Speaking about the upcoming NexterFest proposition, Tusker Senior Brand Manager, Catherine Twesigye, called on fans of Kenyan music to come out in big numbers and enjoy the ultimate Tusker experience as they get to see the next generation of Kenyan musical talent.

“Tusker has always been a brand that gives Kenyan artists a platform to shine. Tusker NexterFest is no different. As we celebrate the new generation of Tusker, we will continue to champion the local music industry as we hold the hands of the bright, bold spirit of future Kenya that we have unearthed at last month’s auditions. We are ready to go again, and we invite all of you to come and support us,” said Twesigye.

She added that through this event, Tusker will be aiming to sharpen these emerging artists’ skills ahead of next month, where the Tusker Nexters national finalists will compete for the ultimate prize both in music and eSports.

The Tusker NexterFest will kick off in Meru this Saturday, April 23rd, on to Nairobi and Kisumu on 30th April, and close in Eldoret and Mombasa on 7th May. Thereafter, the Nexters will battle it out at the grand finale event in Nairobi on the 14th May, crowning the best in esports and music.

The Tusker NexterFest will culminate in the launch of a brand new, bolder than ever Tusker pack, in line with the brand’s celebration of a century of existence.

KBL’s centenary landmark has seen a brighter and bolder take by the brand to increase its footprint across its various consumer touchpoints including Music and Sports. The festivities are an added value for the brand as it continues with its promise of promoting everything that’s loudly and proudly Kenyan into its next 100 years.
