A 37-year-old entrepreneur is the winner of the Grand Prize in the “Win-a-Ride consumer promotion launched by Kenya Breweries in August to recognize and appreciate consumers of the flagship Smirnoff, Baileys and Johnnie Walker brands.
Owen Karanja Kirumba, who runs a printing business from Nairobi’s central business district drove off in a brand new Subaru XV valued at Kshs. 4.2 million with 1 year comprehensive insurance cover.
This brought to an end the 8-week consumer promotion, in which over 11,000 consumers won daily, weekly and monthly prizes.
“We had a get-together with my former school mates and we bought Smirnoff. Luckily, I had seen the campaign’s advert on a billboard, so I scratched the bottle, sent the code and forgot about it.
I was therefore surprised when I received a call from KBL last week, informing me that I had won the grand prize of a Subaru XV,” said Kirumba.
Kirumba added, “I was over joyed and immediately called my wife to share the good news. Although I have always desired to have a newer car, I never imagined that I could be the owner of a brand new car this soon. I intend to keep it as an asset that will not only ease my movement, but also help grow my business”, he added
Through the promotion, KBL also asserted its commitment to provide quality alcoholic beverages and reward loyal consumers.
Speaking, during the Subaru XV handover event, Sales Director- Premium Trade Andrew Kilonzo said, “‘Win-a-Ride’ illustrates our long standing commitment to ensure that we are an integral part of every celebration that our consumers have not only by availing quality drinks, but also through appreciation and recognition platforms such as this”.
He observed that through the campaign they have received valuable feedback from consumers that will be instrumental in ensuring that KBL continues to serve consumers through sustained interactions that appreciate and recognize them.
