Hoteliers in Kenya’s Coast are optimistic of booming business in the first quarter of 2019 as the peak season approaches.

PrideInn group of Hotels Managing Director Mr. Hasnain Noorani during a media briefing today said the hotel has 90 per cent bookings, adding that he expects the number to increase in the next two weeks.

“At the moment, we are seeing higher figures of over 85 per cent for the business in the books between now and Easter, these signs are indicating a positive growth,” Mr. Noorani said.

Local tourism has been gaining momentum in recent years after the Kenya Tourism Board launched marketing campaigns in January 2016 aimed at drawing more Kenyans to tourist hotspots.

Hasnain said ongoing campaigns by hotel and tour operators to reduce rates for domestic tourists during the low season are already paying off.
