Gulf African Bank opens new outlet in a countrywide expansion drive

New outlet in the Nairobi's downtown becomes the seventeenth branch by the lender

Kenyan commercial bank, Gulf African Bank limited (GAB) Tuesday opened a new branch along Nairobi’s Luthuli Avenue in a series of planned countrywide expansion drive by the lender.

GAB’s managing director Mr. Abdullah Abdulkhalik said the new outlet will ease access to services offered by the bank to its customers using Tom Mboya, Moi Avenue, River Road Accra road, Ronal Ngala Street, Haile Selassie Avenue and the wider lower business district.

“This is our first branch in downtown Nairobi. This will help our customers in this area conveniently access our services given that our next branch is along Kenyatta Avenue,” he said.

The bank has embarked on an expansion drive, focused on extending accessibility of its services in the country, is complimentary to Gulf African Bank’s 10th year in business as a Sharia’h compliant bank in Kenya, which also marks 10 years of Islamic Banking in the country.

“The Bank has been here for 10 years, it is not a lot of time in this industry but Gulf African Bank has made big strides in those years into improving financial inclusion for individuals and businesses. The community here will benefit from convenient Cash deposits, Cheque deposits, Asset finance, Loan applications and enquiries about all our other services.” added Mr. Abdullahi Omar Adan, Head of Retail Banking at GAB.

The Launch comes three days after Gulf African Bank’s Managing Director Abdalla Abdulkhalik, was inducted into the African Leadership CEO’s Hall of Fame, an exclusive club of top Chief Executives from across the continent, who have continuously exhibited a passion and commitment to diligence, success and transformational leadership in their bid to make Africa prosperous.
