Petrol, Diesel prices drop marginally in latest review

Prices of fuel and diesel have marginally dropped in the latest monthly review by energy regulator.

Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) Wednesday announced the new fuel prices of Petrol and Diesel which decreased by Sh2.86 per litre and Sh3.28 per litre respectively while, Kerosene prices have shot Sh1.98 per litre.

Motorists in Nairobi will now pay Sh112.53 of super petrol and Sh100.60 for fuel while and Sh103.95 for kerosene. In Mombasa petrol prices will retail at Sh109.89, diesel will retail at Sh97.97 while kerosene will retail at Sh114.01 in Kisumu, diesel at Sh102.29 and kerosene at Sh105.64 in the lakeside city.

EPRA attributed the changes in this month’s prices to the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreasing by 5.64% from US$ 528.26 per cubic metre in June 2019 to US$ 498.46 per cubic metre in July 2019; Diesel decreasing by 7.11% from US$ 519.39 per cubic metre to US$ 482.47 per cubic metre and Kerosene increasing by 1.88% from US$ 503.63 per cubic metre to US$ 513.10 per cubic metre.
