Flutterwave has been recognized for excellence in Cross-Border Payments at the 2025 Africa Tech Summit, held from February 12 to 13, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Africa Tech Summit awards celebrate Africa’s most innovative and impactful technology solutions driving digital transformation across different sectors within the continent.
As Africa continues to develop innovative solutions to address its digital challenges, these awards shine a spotlight on the businesses that are shaping the continent’s technology ecosystem.
By naming Flutterwave the winner of the Cross-Border category, ATS acknowledges the company’s dedication to connecting Africa to the world through seamless payment solutions. This recognition follows a series of prestigious awards Flutterwave received in 2024.
They include Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Company for Europe, Middle East, and Africa”, the “Financial Services Infrastructure Innovation Award” at the International Financial Inclusion Conference, and “Fintech of the Year” at the Africa Banker Awards.
In 2024, Flutterwave reached new heights, with 48% of businesses receiving payments from new geographic locations across sectors such as remittance, hospitality, and travel.
The company also expanded its operations to over 30 countries including Ghana, Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia.
It secured over 30 new Money Transmitter Licences (MTL) in the U.S. and partnered with global financial institutions like American Express, further expanding payment options for businesses and individuals across African markets.
These milestones reinforce its commitment to providing a reliable payment infrastructure that enterprise businesses need to operate in Africa, easily deepening their presence in the continent, and expanding their global reach.
