The outfit has been in operation for the last year with registered membership of more than 100 members in just 10 months, with a target to grow that figure.

Speaking during the launch, Reuben Kimani, Chairperson of Username Sacco, revealed that “Username Sacco is much more than a financial institution, it’s a community built on the values of financial literacy and empowerment.

Our goal is to help ordinary Kenyans turn their dreams into reality by providing affordable and accessible financial solutions that meet their everyday needs.”

Reuben Kimani also assured members of the Sacco that the Board is fully committed to good governance, innovation, and putting members first. He emphasized that integrity and transparency will guide every step as the Sacco works to open up more opportunities for financial inclusion and long-term prosperity.

Username Sacco will provide the following offerings:

  • Instant loans: quick and hassle-free credit with no guarantors required.
  • Property Loan Packages: enable members to own land with as little as 5% deposit and offer flexible repayment options of up to 36 months.
  • Savings Growth: members earn dividends while building equity through the Saccos’ mandatory savings model.
  • Diaspora Wezesha loans: designed to empower Kenyans living and working in the diaspora to stay connected to their mother country while building a solid financial future.

The firm’s CEO, Sarah Wahogo, revealed that “The official launch of Username Sacco is not just a milestone but a continued opportunity to fulfil the broader Username Properties Vision to empower more Kenyans and help them to achieve the dream of home ownership through property loans in addition to other financial offerings.”

Sarah emphasized that membership is open to all Kenyans with a valid ID all over the world, which makes the Sacco an all-inclusive financial institution for both local and diaspora investors.

To become a member, one only needs to pay a one-time registration fee of KShs. 1000 and a minimum share capital of KShs. 5000. This creates an affordable entry point for any individual seeking to grow financially and secure their future.

With this inclusive approach, Username Sacco has positioned itself as a catalyst for financial inclusion, empowering Kenyans from all walks of life to cultivate a saving culture, access affordable credit, and build long-term wealth.
