As you work on your New Year’s resolution, the security of your children should be a very important inclusion in your resolutions. What better way to ensure their future than by ensuring their education is fully protected even in the event of untimely death?
A lot is said about education policies, and mostly it is to discourage parents from taking a policy. Today, we want to walk you through the Orient Educator, helping you understand how it works and helping you make informed decisions.
What is the Orient Educator?
The Orient Educator is an education insurance savings plan offered by the Kenya Orient Life Assurance Limited. This plan helps parents and guardians save for a child’s education in the future.
How does the Orient Educator work?
The Orient Educator works by encouraging parents and guardians to save regularly through flexible payments so that they can secure the future of their children’s education. One can decide to save for between 10 years and 20 years, after which the benefits will be paid out in 4 annual instalments plus the accumulated profits.
For example, if you take a 10-year policy, you will be paid on the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th years. On the 7th year, you will be paid 10 percent of the sum insured, on the 8th year, you will be paid 20 percent of the sum insured, on the 9th year, 30 percent, and on the 10th year, 40 percent of the sum insured, in addition to any accrued bonuses.
If a parent suffers permanent disability or dies before the policy matures, the policy will continue without any further payments.
Who is eligible to take up the plan?
Anyone who is a parent or guardian and has attained the age of 18 years to 65 years is eligible to join.
Why do I need the Orient Educator?
Ensuring a child’s future is secured is one of the most important goals of every parent. With the Orient Educator, you don’t need last-minute budgeting. You know that when it gets to a certain year, your child’s education is fully catered for. But some uncertainties might occur. You don’t want to leave your children stranded to the point where they have to drop out of school because they don’t have school fees. The Orient Educator protects so that your children’s education plans stay on track.
How can I sign up for the Orient Educator?
You simply need to fill in an application form with any of our agents or visit our website www.orientlife.co.ke, and you will be able to sign up. You will then receive a policy document confirming the details of your cover, after which you will start saving as you wait for your policy to mature.
Education is one of the most valuable gifts a parent can give a child. With the high cost of living, which is constantly rising, bringing about unexpected disruptions, you must commit to your child’s future. Not only are you ensuring their future is protected, but you are also ensuring you have peace of mind that no matter what happens, your child will continue learning without any disruptions.
