CarePay appoints Moses Kuria as acting group CEO, Irene Nafula to lead M-TIBA Kenya

CarePay Group has announced key leadership changes, appointing Moses G. Kuria as Acting Chief Executive Officer of CarePay International and M-TIBA, while Irene Nafula assumes the role of Acting Managing Director of M-TIBA Kenya.

In his new role, Kuria will lead CarePay Group, driving strategic execution and scaling the company’s health insurance technology platform across the region. Kuria brings a decade of experience at CarePay, having most recently served as Group Chief Financial Officer and previously as Managing Director of M-TIBA. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nairobi.

Nafula will oversee M-TIBA Kenya, focusing on strategic partnerships, operational performance, and client delivery. She previously served as Commercial Director at M-TIBA, leading partner engagement and enterprise growth.

With over 15 years in the healthcare sector, Nafula’s expertise spans product development, operations, and service delivery. She holds a Master of Science in Organisational Development from the United States International University.

The leadership transition follows the departure of Pieter Prickaerts, who stepped down as Group CEO after nearly seven years. Under his guidance, CarePay expanded its international footprint and strengthened its position as a leading health tech innovator.

The Board expressed gratitude for Prickaerts’ transformative leadership and his role in laying the foundation for the company’s next phase of growth.

CarePay, operating as M-TIBA in Kenya, collaborates with health insurers to develop member-centric, profitable, and scalable health insurance solutions across the region.
