BetPawa Injects KSh 6.7 Million Into Kenyan Sports Development

575 players to benefi t as kits and training gear boost men’s and women’s teams across the country

At least 575 football players drawn from 25 teams across Kenya are set to benefi t from a KSh 6.7 million sports development initiative by betting fi rm betPawa.

betpawa has provided full playing kits and essential training equipment to the teams to strengthen football development at the community level. The donation covers both men’s and women’s teams, refl ecting a growing focus on inclusivity in sport.

Each player will receive a complete kit comprising jerseys, shorts, and socks. In addition, every team has been allocated four match balls, bringing the total number of balls distributed to 100. The package also includes 575 training bibs and 75 pairs of goalkeeper gloves.

The initiative is expected to ease the burden on teams that often struggle with access to basic equipment, a challenge that continues to affect performance and player development across many parts of the country.

Among the benefi ciary teams are Maungu All Stars FC, Majengo FC, Mwendo FC, Kisii Wazee FC, Kapkorech Starlet, St Josephus Nakuru, Maringo United, Masimba Queens, Lugusi FC, Youngboys FC, Livewire FC, Panga FC, Black Stallion FC, UNESCO FC, Kangeta Youth FC, Kangami FC, Gategi Ladies, HCE FC, Falcon Queens, Arrows of Kajembe Starlets, Atletico Kangemi SC, Kibagare Girls FC, Kick It Kenya FC, Shimanzi FC, and Nyanturago Town Boys FC.

The support comes at a time when many local teams continue to operate with limited resources, often relying on community contributions to fund kits and training materials.

By providing standardised playing and training equipment, the initiative is expected to improve organisation within teams, enhance match preparedness, and create a more professional environment for players.

Women’s teams form a signifi cant part of the benefi ciaries, refl ecting betPawa’s broader commitment to creating more inclusive opportunities within sport.

Across its sports development initiatives in Africa, the brand has consistently championed equity in the game, including through its widely recognised Locker Room Bonus (LRB) programme, where both men’s and women’s teams receive equal bonus payments for victories.

betPawa’s latest investment adds to a growing list of corporate-backed initiatives aimed at supporting sport beyond elite competitions and into community structures that sustain the game.
