Harnessing the power of rugby to promote education, smart career choices

Study – abroad experts, EduCare International and its partners have announced a multi-year extension of their transformational social impact partnership, reaffirming their commitment to use rugby as a vehicle to support diversity, inclusion and learning opportunities for secondary school children and young people across the country.

Speaking during this year’s Blackrock Rugby Festival at the St. Mary’s School in Nairobi, the Country director for Educare International Omar Mohamed noted that the tournament plays a crucial role in arming the learners with necessary information in career choices in foreign universities with the agency’s partners.

The tournament has been played every year since its inception in 1983 and attracted a total of 22 teams in a competition that was won by Rift Valley Academy 1.

Besides RVA and Strathmore, the 2008 champions, hosts St Mary’s School that is the most successful team in the event with 10 titles and Prescott Cup champions, Ofafa High School are the other teams for the one-day competition.
