Utility firm, Kenya Power today announced a disruption of its prepaid system scheduled for Sunday 2nd June and Monday 3rd June, 2024.
The firm said during this period it will upgrade their prepaid token systems from 10:00 PM, Sunday, 2nd June 2024 to 10:00 PM, Monday 3rd June 2024. During this period, customers will not be able to buy electricity from all the vending points including Kenya Power offices, M-PESA Paybill number 888880, Airtel Money and banking channels.
The company has advised all prepaid customers to plan accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
In a statement to all prepaid customers on Monday 27th May 2024, the company said:
“We wish to inform our customers that the prepaid token vending system will be unavailable from 10:00 PM, Sunday 2nd June to 10:00 PM, Monday 3rd June to enable us to upgrade our systems for improved service delivery.
During this period, customers will not be able to buy electricity from all the vending points including Kenya Power offices, M-PESA Paybill number 888880, Airtel Money and banking channels.
We therefore wish to advise our prepaid customers to buy enough tokens before then to avoid any inconvenience.”
